Maslow, Abraham H.
The Farther Reaches of Human Nature / Abraham H. Maslow. – Harmondsworth : Penguin Books Ltd., 1971. – 408 p.
Ahraham Н. Maslow was one of the foremost spokesmen of the humnuistic, or "Third Force," psychologies, an optimist, and a philosopher of science. In order to pursue the truth of things, to discover and develop a way to experiencing the highest levels of human awareness, to research the best social conditions in which man might bring himself to a "full humanness", he found he could not separate the empirical methods of science from the aesthetics of philosophical inquiry. "Experiencing is only the beginning of knowledge," he said, "- necessary, but not sufficient." This first posthumous work serves an extension of Maslow's classic "Toward a Psychology of Being". It is a wide-ranging synthesis of his inspiring and influential ideas on biology, synergy, creativity, cognition, the hierarchy of needs, and the role of science in the expanding study of human nature.
